Muscle Injury First Aid: Getting an icepack and putting it in the affected area is the first way to treat a non-threatening injury. Put a bandage on to provide comfort after this. Finally, lift it higher than your body’s rest. All these tips help minimize tissue inflammation and avoid any swelling, thus facilitating a faster recovery.

Back Pain: Back pain is a common issue for people who exercise. Lifting or uncontrolled movements can cause injury while exercising. Muscle tears and spasms may cause discomfort but can also be caused by a slipped disc or Sciatica. Instead of treating it afterwards, it is vital to avoid an injury like this by always being careful of posture when exercising, not lifting weights that are too heavy, and not putting too much pressure on the body by over-exercising.

Tendons: Tendons are a series of fibres linking the bones with the muscles. You can damage the tissue that lies around that region if you unexpectedly stretch or overuse that part of your body in a sport.

Ligaments: These are a band of tough fibers that tie together the bones. When irregular motion is imposed on a certain part of the body, damage is caused. Twisting the ankle, for instance, can result in extreme pain and is known as a sprain. The fibres are broken, which results in the affected area swelling.

Severe Injury: If gentle pressure or movement induces discomfort and/or the limb or joint looks deformed, you might have a broken bone. Stop movement in this situation, as this can cause further damage to the environment. As a splint stabilizes the damaged parts and stops unnecessary movement, it may be possible to splint the affected area. See a doctor as soon as possible if you are uncertain.
